The term road racing can refer to three very different types of racing competition: running on foot, riding on a bicycle or using an automobile. In 1933 the Automobile Racing Club Of America was founded and soon changed its name to the Sports Car Club Of America, introducing organization to road racing competitions, both in cars and motorcycles.
